WordPress Multilingual (WPML) makes it easy to run a multilingual website with a single WordPress installation and it comes pre-installed with over 40 languages. You can also add your own language variants (like Canadian French or Mexican Spanish) using WPML’s languages editor. Simply choose the languages you want and start translating your content!
We’ve worked extensively with the WPML team to ensure that all the FooEvents plugins are compatible so you can easily translate your content into different languages and run fully multilingual event websites.
Update March 22, 2022: FooEvents for WooCommerce now has recommended plugin status in WPML’s plugin directory!
Setup
Before you get started, we recommend that you first read through WPML’s Getting Started Guide to familiarize yourself with how the product works.
You then need to ensure that you activate the following required WPML plugins:
- WPML Multilingual CMS
- WPML String Translation
- WooCommerce Multilingual
You can then continue to setup the languages you would like to use and translate your site using the WPML translation wizard.
Translating Event Products
All your WooCommerce products (events) can now be translated manually or automatically using the WPML WooCommerce Multilingual plugin. For more detailed instructions on how to do this, please refer to the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin documentation.
FooEvents doesn’t require any specific configuration or setup process to integrate with WPML which is one of the benefits of this integration. You just need to create a standard event product, configure the event settings according to your primary language, and finally, translate the event product.
And that’s it folks! WPML will automatically setup the event settings in each of your specified translations.
If you have any suggestions or feedback regarding this integration with WPML, please get in touch!
